Beware. there are translations in this that are NOWHERE close to what the Bible actually says. I would not use this Bible. Peterson wouldn't recommend as a study Bible because it has no concordance, and he doesn't like to see fellow clergy use it for sermon preparation. "When pastors tell me they preach from it, I tell them they miss the connection with the past with this translation," he says. So what purpose does serve? Peterson says it's a comfortable entry point for those who have been turned off by the institutional feel of the traditional text. With a translation that speaks in contemporary language, there's no reason for first-time readers to fear the Bible. He hopes will only be a launchpad into the standard translations. "Get weaned from it," urges Peterson. "I actually prefer translations that are archaic and stay close to the syntax of the ancient language. It makes for awkward reading, but it preserves the uniqueness of the works."

Religious ppl, EVEN in the latest modern "churches" please beware of the Devils infiltration by keeping u from reading this message. I have watched the "nay sayers" arguments and did my humble little e-sword study on the FEW scriptures and really, I go with Eugene as I sure wouldn't hurt anyone by quoting a religious version. Our Creator communicates simple and straightforward, in my opinion. Anything abstruse, esoteric, cryptic, and convoluted is suspect. It makes sense to study the language of the day when the Bible was written and be careful of all subsequent translations. Bless everyone on the planet! Jesus, protect you in these intentionally perplexing and precarious times.

Can't stand this man's evil MSG; that I almost vomited over literally, when doing a comparative analysis. Lots of illiterate Christians unable to decipher and discern, the bate and switch of "as above so below" from Isaiah 14:11-15, used to replace the lord's prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Lucifer himself couldn't have attempted to reclaim Isaiah 14:11 more shrewdly. But Lucifer is not in heaven and hell ruling and he'll be cast into the lake of fire forever, soon. Also, I'm angry at the mocking of the great linguistic scholars of old and the translations. What could be more beautiful than our God is a rock and that my Savior keeps my tears in a bottle. The great scholars of history have said, "without William Tyndale and his great translation into English, there would be no Shakespeare". Oh, for the people reading this, real Christians can be trusted. You know, the 800,000 that gave their lives for Jesus Christ in the last 10 years. Also, the 200,000,000 suffering persecution right now worldwide. Then there are the Christians who are still helping in Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Mexico (after the earthquake), Puerto Rico and worldwide. And oh ya, if you need a list of good christian music try the Gaithers, Sandi Patty, Larnelle Harris, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Cece Winans, Keith Greens legacy music, etc. No, we Christians were all set! We're loving and sharing and giving of ourselves worldwide! We are awaiting glory to come after our death, when the angels escort us to paradise. You know the Christians you don't see much except when were ANGRY with your foolish heretical nonsense.

You are right. The message is not a Bible. It is a heretical book written to make people feel good not to speak the truth of God's true word. Eugene has also said that he would marry a gay Christian couple in his church. I believe a gay Christian couple is an oxymoron and is not possible.

That book is the spawn of Satan, have y'all read it? And what did she say? "every couple of generations the language of the bible is modernized" Sister, my Bible's the same Bible we've been preachin' out of for 404 years, don't give me that claptrap, for 300 long years til' ol Westcott and his sinner friend Hort got up and blaspehemed the Word of God with that ASV filth. That's a lot of generations before modernists and unbelievers came along and changed the Word of God.

Heb 11:1 " The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see" His is the only translation that uses "foundation". to describe faith. This gave me a greater insight into this scripture which had puzzled me. Every translation has strengths and weaknesses. I use a number of versions and compare them with Strong's and Thayer's. The autographs alone are without error
